2025 updates
I made a couple of changes in 2025. Here is a brief outline.
Blog and main page merge
For those who watch carefully, you have seen that andreasfertig.blog redirects to andreasfertig.com/blog/ since the beginning of this year. Merging my blog and main page was something I prepared in the background for quite a while. Actually it was on my list for early 2024. Except for a slightly longer URL, you shouldn't notice a difference. I will keep blogging at least once a month. The change was to keep the maintenance effort lower. Before the merge, I had to copy changes to the styling from one site to the other. I wasn't consistent there, and as you know from developing programs, once you copied a function, the likelihood of fixing a bug only in one place is high. During the merge I saw once again that this is very true. Should you notice any broken links, please feel free to report them!
Social media
As you all know, last year, several things changed on Twitter. While I still have my account there and post all the content, I no longer use this as my primary social media platform. I tried out Mastodon but wasn't that happy. When Bluesky came around, I was pleased to see a familiar world that works best for me. That said, my primary platform is now Bluesky. You will find me there as bsky.app/profile/andreasfertig.com. I'm also active on LinkedIn and Mastodon but you might get the most timely reaction on Bluesky.
What remains the same?
Everything else :-)
I keep working on C++ Insights. I'm also enjoying my small YouTube channel youtube.com/@andreas_fertig, where I continue to publish content once a month. Feel free to show your appreciation by either following the channel or becoming a GitHub Sponsor.
I also continue presenting at conferences and giving workshops there. This month, you have a chance to be part of such an event by joining C++ Online and specifically my workshop there Safe and Efficient C++ for Embedded Environments.
If such a public event doesn't suit your needs, remember, your company can always hire me for an in-house class. Remote or on-site, we make what's best for you.
Andreas
